Houston White-Collar Criminal Defense Attorney Philip Hilder Named Among Texas’ Top Lawyers In 2013

HOUSTON – Noted white-collar criminal defense attorney Philip Hilder of Houston’s Hilder & Associates, P.C., is being honored by the publishers of Texas Super Lawyers as one of the state’s top attorneys in 2013.

Mr. Hilder has earned the Texas Super Lawyers distinction every year since the list’s debut in 2003. He is recognized in the recent list for his expertise in white-collar criminal defense.

To create the list of top attorneys, Texas Super Lawyers asks lawyers to nominate their peers, and a blue-ribbon panel assists with final selections. A former federal prosecutor, Mr. Hilder represents individuals, corporate officers and businesses in white-collar criminal defense, internal investigations, whistle-blower matters and related litigation. He also focuses on cases involving health care and Medicaid fraud. He routinely handles high-profile cases, including previously representing the whistle-blowers at Enron Corp. and Countrywide Financial Corp.

Mr. Hilder currently serves as the National Co-Chair of the White-Collar Crime Committee for the American Bar Association’s Criminal Justice Section. He also is Co-Chair of the ABA National Institute on Securities Fraud.

A Boston College Law School graduate, Mr. Hilder served as the attorney-in-charge of the Department of Justice Organized Crime Strike Force in Houston. While in private practice, he has served as President of the Federal Bar Association in Houston in addition to appointments as a federal Special Counsel and a State Bar of Texas Grievance Panel member.
